Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 October 2026
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using DiagNav (Disorder DiagnAvIgator, at diagnav.xyz), operated by Dr Bruce R. Long ("we", "us").
1. Acceptance of Terms
By signing in to or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation such as a clinic or university, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.
2. Intended purpose and no medical advice
DiagNav is a reference, education and research tool. Its clinical features, including the Differential Diagnosis Assistant, are intended for use by qualified health professionals, and by students under supervision, to support their own clinical judgement. They do not replace it.
Disclaimer: DiagNav does not diagnose, treat or provide medical or psychological advice, and using it does not create a clinician-patient relationship. AI-generated output can be incomplete or wrong. You must check it against current diagnostic criteria and your own assessment, and all clinical decisions remain your responsibility.
DiagNav is not a crisis service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 000. For 24/7 crisis support in Australia, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
3. Your obligations
You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for complying with all laws that apply to you, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), state health records laws and your professional obligations. Do not enter information that identifies a client or research participant unless you have a lawful basis and any consent you need. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.
4. Intellectual Property
All content, code, logos, and "look and feel" of the Service are the property of Bruce R. Long. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose while your account or subscription is active. You keep ownership of the content you create.
5. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (including consumer guarantees) or any other law that cannot be excluded. Where the law allows us to limit our liability for a failure to meet a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
6. Limitation of Liability
Subject to section 5, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Cap on Liability: Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- Exclusion of Consequential Damages: We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including loss of profits, loss of data, or clinical decisions made by the user.
7. Subscriptions & Billing
Subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Change-of-mind refunds are not provided, but this does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price change.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these terms or if your use of the site poses a security risk or legal liability.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Both parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of NSW.
